There will be a community meeting this Saturday, June 15 from 9am-12 noon at the Joshua Tree Community Center to discuss these two items:
1. Our community’s options going forward with regard to opposing the proposed Dollar General store in Joshua Tree, now that the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors have denied our appeal and let the project proceed.
2. The Board of Supervisors have signaled an interest in working with the Joshua Tree community on a “Specific Plan” for Joshua Tree’s business district — essentially an extremely detailed land use planning document that would have the full force of law. We need to discuss how to organize the crafting of such a document, and what it should include.
Concerned, informed members of the Joshua Tree community involved in the fight against Dollar General to date will be present at the meeting to facilitate the discussion.
The Joshua Tree Community Center is located at 6171 Sunburst Avenue.
We will meet in the large meeting room.
Please attend if you can!
